Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I have signed a letter written by the Massachusetts Council of Churches urging Gov. Charlie Baker to reconsider his statements regarding Syrian refugees.
Gov. Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire and Gov. Paul LePage of Maine have made similar statements.
By adding my signature to this important letter, I join my brothers and sisters in Christ in pledging our support for resettling Syrian refugees in Massachusetts.
And I would like to encourage you, my clergy colleagues and lay members, if you feel so moved, to write your own letters to the governors of your respective states expressing your support for welcoming refugees who have suffered so much into the United States.
